1. Pothos
The classic beginner vine. Pothos grows in almost any light (even low), tolerates missed waterings, and tells you when it's thirsty by drooping slightly, then perks right back up after a drink. Trailing or climbing, it's nearly foolproof. Water when the top inch or two of soil is dry.
2. Snake Plant

3. ZZ Plant
If you travel or forget to water, the ZZ (Zamioculcas zamiifolia) is your plant. Glossy, dark-green leaves, underground rhizomes that store water, and a real tolerance for low light. Water only when thoroughly dry, about every 2-3 weeks.
4. Heartleaf Philodendron
A soft, trailing vine that's as easy as pothos and quick to grow. It adapts to medium and lower light and forgives the occasional missed watering. A Philodendron is a great confidence-builder.
5. Spider Plant
Fast, cheerful, and pet-safe. The spider plant sends out baby "pups" you can pot up and share, tolerates a range of light, and bounces back from neglect.
