Every order is carefully packed and ships within 1–4 business days. Plants ship from Florida and select U.S. grower partners so they arrive faster and healthier, and we ship early in the week so they're never sitting in transit over a weekend.

How to Repot Your New Plant

Your plant arrives in a nursery pot and is happy there for several weeks. When you see roots circling the bottom, roots poking through the drainage holes, or water running straight through, it's time to size up. Here's how to do it without stressing your plant.

1. Choose the right pot

   Pick a pot just 1–2 inches wider than the current one, with drainage holes. Jumping to a much larger pot holds excess water around the roots and can lead to root rot.

2. Water a day before

   Lightly moisten the soil the day before repotting. Damp roots slide out cleanly and recover from the move with far less shock.

3. Ease the plant out

   Gently squeeze the nursery pot, tip the plant into your hand, and loosen any tightly circling roots with your fingers so they can grow outward into the fresh mix.

4. Add fresh potting mix

   Use a well-draining indoor mix (add perlite or orchid bark for aroids like monsteras and philodendrons). Put a layer in the base, center the plant at the same depth it sat before, and fill in around the sides.

5. Settle, water & rest

   Lightly press the soil, water until it drains from the bottom, and place the plant in bright, indirect light. Hold off on fertilizer for 3–4 weeks while new roots establish.
